EliSpot / FluoroSpot
EliSpot and FluoroSpot are highly sensitive ex vivo immunoassays that measure the frequency of antigen-specific T or B cells with a limit of detection of approx. 1 in 100,000 cells.
EliSpot and FluoroSpot assays are used in all phases of preclinical and clinical drug development and provide robust tools to assess immunogenicity with regard to drug efficacy (e.g. vaccines) and safety (immune-related adverse events).

Applications
EliSpot and FluoroSpot are successfully applied in all areas where reliable assessment of immunogenicity is required – from early development to clinical development phases.
This mainly includes efficacy testing and immune monitoring during the development of cancer vaccines and immunotherapies as well as vaccine development for infectious diseases such as COVID-19 but also includes other areas of drug development.

Cytokine release measured by EliSpot or FluoroSpot not only detects functional antigen-specific immune cells, but also allows an assessment of the type of immune response.
